Small oil grinding stones SK11 are designed for sharpening tools or for removing burrs on the edge or cut metal object. They come in various shapes and grit sizes. A special grinding oil is required for their use, which ensures proper removal of ground particles, better surface finish, and less wear on the grinding stones. This square sharpener is intended for chisels with a straight edge and carving knives even with a "V" profile edge.

To keep the oil stones in good condition, they need to be cleaned from time to time. For this purpose, it is best to use mineral oil or turpentine. Leveling worn oil stones is done in the same way as water stones – using a leveling stone or using water sandpaper. However, you should use one of the aforementioned oils for leveling.

Which grit to choose?

For grinding really dull or uneven blades, use stones with a low JIS number (Japanese classification for grit size). The lower the number, the coarser the stone. Stones with a high JIS number are intended for final and fine grinding or smoothing.
