Small oil grinding stones SUN TIGER are designed for sharpening tools or for removing burrs on edges or cut metal objects. They have a whole range of grit sizes. For working with them, a special grinding oil is needed, which ensures the proper removal of ground particles, better surface finish, and less wear on the grinding stones. The flat sharpening stone is intended for chisels and carving knives with a straight edge.

To keep the oil stones in good condition, it is necessary to clean them from time to time. For this purpose, mineral oil or turpentine is best used. Flattening worn oil stones is done in the same way as with water stones - using a flattening stone or water sandpaper. However, you should use one of the above-mentioned oils for leveling.

Which grit to choose?

For sharpening really dull or uneven blades, use stones with a low JIS number (Japanese classification for grit size). The lower the number, the coarser the stone. Stones with a high JIS number are intended for final and fine sharpening or smoothing.
